Front Desk Mastery

Front Desk Mastery will prepare your receptionists and front desk staff to make their best impression on new and existing clients. This class will also teach essential communication and problem solving skills that these front line professionals absolutely must have. From greeting clients and booking appointments properly to selling gift certificates and up-selling services, we'll cover it all. Whether you are in the beginning of growing a clientele or several years into building one, this eight hour class will give you the tools and insight needed to fill your appointment book to the brim. From before a new client walks in the door to the moment they leave the office and after, all spa service providers have numerous opportunities to make an impression and win the ongoing business of their clients. Boomerang Marketing will help all students to see the bounty of affordable marketing opportunities that are available to help grow their practice and your business.

Goal Setting for Professional and Personal Success
Explore the reasons behind and steps for effective goal setting. After determining one or more goals you want to achieve, this class will outline the easiest ways for you to turn those goals into realities as well as a number of methods for staying on track. The class will also explore the motivations you have behind your goals and the roadblocks that keep you from achieving them successfully. Students should be prepared to discuss their goals and related ideas in a group setting and to give supportive feedback to classmates.  Eight hours.

Successful Relationships in the Salon, Spa or Massage Workplace
The premise behind this class is to make all spa and salon professionals more well-rounded in their outlook and actions toward others in the workplace while promoting a stronger, more caring and balanced workplace environment. By giving your staff the opportunity to explore the similarities and differences between each other, you will help to encourage comradery and prevent conflict. Recent surveys have also shown that younger workers in particular want to feel a sense of community or shared interests with their co-workers which will help to reduce turnover and add in overall job satisfaction. This is especially important as there is increased competition in our field and an increasingly diverse (and discriminating) work-force and clientele coming through the spa and salon doors. Eight Hours.

Deja Vu Professional Ethics Review
This class reviews the essentials of professional ethics for massage therapists and all spa professionals. Topics include the definition of a professional, boundaries, code of ethics, scope of practice, sexual issues and comminucation techniques. Students will take a boundary assessment, write a personal code of ethics and disucss and role play various types of issues faced in the touch-oriented workplace. Longer classes will also deal with techniques for dealing with conflict. Three hours.

Conflict Resolution
Sometimes the best solution to problems is prevention. This class will educate students on how to create an ethically sound environment in the spa workplace through the use of personal and professional boundaries, client and staff policies, effective communication and conflict management tools. Students will have a chance to practice dealing with difficult clients and other challenging work situations through role-play and group discussions. Upon completion of the class, students will have numerous tools and insights about how to handle ethical dilemmas and other challenging workplace situations. Three hours.

When Intention Doesn't Matter: Preventing Harassment and Sexual Harassment 
This class will give students insight about the various types of harassment that can occur in the workplace, including sexual harassment. When Intention Doesn't Matter will also benefit students by helping them to explore their own ideas, ideals and experiences that relate to common prejudices, discrimination and harassment. Students will walk away from this class with a stronger understanding of the many forms of harassment, discrimination and discriminatory language that is woven into everyday life. They will also learn and to recognize potentially dangerous harassing behaviors and how to deal with harassing situations (as an employee) in their workplace. Three hours.

Waterless Spa Treatments I & II
Whether you are in the beginning of growing a massage or spa-related business or several years into starting one, this class will give students some new options for adding waterless spa treatments to their client offerings. Using an "add-on" approach, students will learn several easy spa treatments to benefit their clients and practice to include dry brushing, a body polish or salt scrub and a body wrap. Students will also learn how to "pre-qualify" their business and clients for the addition of spa treatments as well as how to avoid some common pitfalls and mistakes when selecting treatments, equipment or product lines. Additionally, students will explore ways to introduce the spa experience to clients without a huge budget.  Will include all products and some take-home items for attendees. 8 hours each. This class is not available outside of NC/SC/VA unless all equipment is provided.
